Really Enjoying, 1.18
I am really enjoying:
• Jeffrey Toobin’s profile of U.S. Representative Barney Frank in the current New Yorker
• Matt Taibbi’s takedown of Thomas Friedman in the New York Press, and the accompanying cartoon strip by David Rees (of ‘Get Your War On’ fame). A sampling:
“Approach-and-rhetoric wise, however, it’s the same old Friedman, a tireless social scientist whose research methods mainly include lunching, reading road signs, and watching people board airplanes.”
• A dinner combination I made up by accident: Lentil salad, sliced beet, and fried chicken.
• This company that makes blank notebooks inspired by old agriculrural memo books. Also their use of kraft paper as a background, and what looks like an adaptation of Chris Pearson’s Cutline theme on their website (though I could be wrong about that).
