Dinner, 11.17
I went away for Thanksgiving. I finished a couple of big projects. I came back here and took the first couple of days off in weeks. I gave the first bit of attention I’ve given to 400 Words in a while, and it was to make a step that I’ve been thinking about for a few months: I’m starting to shut 400 Words down. As I said over there, it was a grand old project, but its time may have come. It lost momentum. The web grew up around it. I needed to do some other things. Well: before it goes, I’ll be cleaning up some. I was able to post a story by Albert Maysles (yeah, that Albert Maysles!) that I’d been hanging onto for a long time, waiting for some impactful moment that I realized would probably never come.
Getting 400 Words ready to sleep the good sleep made me realize how much I like Derek Powazek’s DePo Skinny theme for Wordpress, so I decided to install it over here, and then I couldn’t resist messing around with it a bunch more. So that’s still in process. Yes, slipshod web design is how I spent my mid-week weekend. And now it’s back to work.
