Alexis Stamatis on Louise Bourgeois

The other night, while cooking dinner at home, I explored the lower reaches of New York City’s FM radio dial. Somewhere below WNYC, I found an (I think?) Greek radio station, at which a young woman was interviewing the author Alexis Stamatis about his new novel, American Fugue, which has been translated into English.

Stamatis, who used to work as an architect until be became a writer, mentioned having a blog at which he records personal thoughts and observations. When the intervierwer pressed him for what kinds of things he writes about on the blog, he mentioned just having been to the Louise Bouregois show at the Guggenheim, and blogging something about it in a coffee shop afterwards.

‘Hey cool,’ I thought, having just blogged about the same thing myself. Turns out his post is in Greek. But anyway. I enjoyed the radio show very much, and maybe I’ll check out this American Fugue book.
